LG Revives Its Iconic Wallpaper OLED TV at CES — Now Wireless and Ultra-Thin

LG has brought back one of its most striking TV designs. After a six-year absence, the company has revived its ultra-thin Wallpaper TV lineup with the debut of the LG OLED evo W6, unveiled at CES. First introduced in 2017, the Wallpaper TV returns with a modern redesign—and this time, it’s wireless.

The W6 measures just 9mm thick, slightly thicker than earlier versions but made possible by a completely reengineered internal structure. A redesigned wall mount allows the display to sit perfectly flush against the wall, maintaining its signature “wallpaper” look. To eliminate cable clutter, LG has paired the W6 with its Zero Connect Box, which wirelessly transmits video and audio signals. The box can be placed up to 10 meters (33 feet) away and houses all external inputs, though the TV still requires a power connection.

LG has also upgraded the display technology. The W6 features the company’s new Hyper Radiant Color Technology, designed to enhance black levels, color accuracy, and brightness. It’s engineered to have the lowest screen reflectance of any LG TV and is the first television to receive Reflection Free with Premium certification from Intertek.

Brightness gets another boost from Brightness Booster Ultra, a feature shared with LG’s upcoming G6 series. LG claims the G6 will be up to 20 percent brighter than the G5—which previously measured over 2,400 nits—though the company has not yet disclosed peak brightness figures for the W6.

The Wallpaper TV also supports LG Gallery+, giving users access to more than 4,500 curated images for display when the TV isn’t in use. For gamers, the W6 supports refresh rates up to 165Hz, AMD FreeSync Premium, and NVIDIA G-Sync compatibility.

The LG OLED evo W6 Wallpaper TV will be available in 77-inch and 83-inch sizes.
