Motorola Unveils Its First Foldable Device: motorola razr fold

The debut of the motorola razr fold marks a major milestone for the brand. Designed to adapt effortlessly to users’ lives, this new foldable form factor blends portability with expansive productivity and entertainment experiences.

When closed, the razr fold feels familiar and comfortable, thanks to its slim design and large 6.6-inch external display that functions like a traditional smartphone. Opening the device reveals an immersive 8.1-inch 2K LTPO display, transforming it into a powerful canvas for multitasking, creativity, and media consumption. Flexible layouts, adaptive interfaces, and moto pen ultra stylus support make the experience intuitive and fluid.

AI plays a central role, with on-device features such as Catch Me Up and Next Move helping users stay organized, informed, and ahead of their day—whether the device is folded or fully open.

Photography is equally ambitious. The razr fold features a triple 50MP camera system, including a main sensor, ultrawide/macro lens, and a 3x periscope telephoto lens for versatility in any shooting scenario. A 32MP external selfie camera enables high-quality shots even when the device is closed, while a 20MP internal camera ensures crisp video calls. Powered by a Sony LYTIA™ sensor and enhanced with Dolby Vision® recording and advanced stabilization, the razr fold delivers cinematic-quality photos and videos.

Introducing a New Ultra-Premium Franchise: motorola signature

Motorola also introduced motorola signature, the first device in its new ultra-premium franchise designed for users who demand the very best in technology, design, and service.

The motorola signature represents Motorola’s most sophisticated smartphone to date. It features meticulously crafted finishes, bold colorways, and an industry-leading commitment of up to seven years of Android OS and security updates. Motorola Qira: A Unified AI Ecosystem Across Devices

At the heart of Motorola’s announcements is Motorola Qira, a unified AI platform developed in collaboration with Lenovo. Built on learnings from moto ai and Lenovo AI Now, Qira addresses a common frustration: fragmented AI experiences across apps and devices.

Motorola Qira brings Lenovo and Motorola’s AI innovations—moto ai, Lenovo AI Now, Creator Zone, and Learning Zone—together under one name, interface, and wake word. The result is a single intelligence that works seamlessly across devices, powered by a shared knowledge base that carries context wherever users go.

Through partnerships with industry leaders such as Microsoft, Google, Qualcomm, Intel, and Perplexity, Qira delivers trusted, on-device AI experiences. It remembers user context, anticipates needs, and helps users pick up exactly where they left off—eliminating the need to repeat prompts or retrain tools. With additional features rolling out later this year, Motorola Qira positions AI as personal, consistent, and firmly under user control.

Project Maxwell: An AI Perceptive Companion Concept

Motorola’s innovation lab, 312 Labs, also showcased Project Maxwell, an AI perceptive companion proof of concept designed to make AI more natural, hands-free, and context-aware.

This AI-native wearable concept is always accessible and continuously aware of its surroundings—seeing what users see, hearing what they hear, and understanding what they say. It can provide real-time insights and personalized recommendations without requiring users to pull out their phones.

For example, during a conference, Project Maxwell could listen to a keynote and later generate a polished LinkedIn post summarizing the event—all while the user remains focused on the moment. Key capabilities include multimodal perception fusion, which combines visual and audio data, and natural language interaction powered by Large Action Models that can execute user-initiated tasks. While still a concept, Project Maxwell offers a glimpse into Motorola’s future vision for AI companions.
